Losing It ~ The Book
I’ve always love to read books. No matter where I went I had a book in my hands, until I discovered “Audible”.
Yes, audible.com made my addiction a little bit easier. I just had to carry my iPod®, put my earphones on and listen to someone else read to me. Lazy? perhaps, but when you are on the go, go, go life style it just makes it easier.
So why am I telling you all this? Well, several months ago an amazing young woman contacted me. Her name is Danielle Sepulveres. Danielle is beautiful, an actress, a model and an author. She had written a book with the most catchy title, “Losing It – The Semi Scandalous Story of an Ex-Virgin“. Needless to say, the title itself caught my attention.
Danielle wanted me to read her book before being published and provide her with a blurb. Wow! it blew my mind. An author, wanted my review on her book. I was honored to say the least and without hesitation I accepted the task.
I received the manuscript a week later. I was excited to have a book in my hands again. Well, it didn’t look like a book when I got it, but nevertheless it was a book.
The Book
Without giving much away, I have to say it’s a page turner. Once I started I couldn’t put it down. Danielle captures the reader and wont let you go until the end.
Its a journey being told with emotions and honesty. She tells you about love, a health scare with HPV at the age of 23, her fears and disappointments.
The following is a small excerpt of the book:
“I suppose I attribute a lot of different things to why I waited until I was in my early twenties for “the real thing”. My own paranoia that grew out of paying too much attention in middle and high school health class, my idiotic decision to take Biology of Human Sexuality in college, my mother’s insistence when I liked a guy to “just be friends, not sleep with him” and ultimately that I believed I would have a gut instinct telling me when I had met the right guy. Looking back, it is no wonder that I ended up in therapy”.
My official blurb that you’ll find on the back cover:
“This is a great book! Danielle captivates the reader and takes you on a journey experiencing growing pains that are familiar to some but inspiring to ALL. A must-read!” ~ Patti Murillo-Casa
Book Launch
The book launch will be on Saturday, January 21, 2012 but the book is available NOW on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. It’s also available in Kindle and Nook edition. I highly recommend this memoir. Danielle Sepulveres did an amazing job. One of my favorite authors is Danielle Steel, now I have to add another Danielle to my favorites.
“That is a good book which is opened with expectation, and closed with delight and profit”. ~ Amos Bronson Alcott
