My 9th Year Cancerversary

According to numerology the Number 9 is the symbol of wisdom. It is the last number before the next harmony.

I have gained so much wisdom, and I have become so much wiser during my journey as I celebrate my Cancerversary. Today, Cinco de Mayo, I am celebrating my 9th year of being cancer FREE.   Yay! for me.

As I was going through my treatments (chemotherapy and radiation) nine years ago, my hopes were slim, but I am grateful today to have the wisdom to know that I am blessed.
My world as I knew it, changed forever, but change is not always bad.  The amount of blessings that have come after this horrible battle are priceless.  Cancer also taught me to be resilient, to believe, and to have faith.

Today I can say “I beat cancer”– But honestly — it doesn’t end there.  It is a daily struggle for me. I fight fear, I fight demons that were left behind in order to move forward.  I fail at times, but I know that my bad days do not dictate my tomorrows.

My mission is to spread the word that my story doesn’t have to be yours.  You don’t have to become a statistic like me.   Being healthy doesn’t look the same on everyone.  We have to take care of our bodies, mind and spirit.  Our body is our temple – Let’s respect it and honor it.

My Doctor (Dr. Jason D. Wright) and Me

You don’t have to be a size 0.  You don’t have to eat perfect all the time.  Your tongue doesn’t have to hit the floor to be fit or have a good workout.   You need to do the best you can with what you have.  Be determined, be consistent, be patient and stay focused.

Am I going to save the world? No — but I do what I can to empower people to take responsibility of their own health, and be their own health warrior.  It is not an easy task by no means, but what is? Nothing is easy when it’s worthwhile.

I want to thank the many teachers and mentors including my wonderful doctor that have come into my life and have shared their knowledge and experiences with me. Learning from people that are willing to share their knowledge is priceless.

A very special thanks to my partner in crime, the love of my life, my husband Freddie.  Behind every successful woman there is a wonderful man.
Thank you to my family and friends for the continuous love and support.  I love you ALL. xo

So help me celebrate today as I raise my glass and say: Here’s to my next harmony. Cheers!!

P.S.  My last Pap Test was January 18, 2018 – When was yours??? Make the appointment NOW.
